About Us

Reckon we look a bit familiar? You're not losing the plot, mate. We used to be Essential Bogan, but we've since given the joint a bit of a tidy-up and re-emerged as Bogan Mate. Same two bogan lads behind it all, same questionable sense of humour — just a new name and a fresh coat of paint.

We're basically two everyday Aussie blokes who wanted somewhere to showcase the weird, quirky and occasionally dark shit that makes us laugh. Turns out a few of you find it funny too, so here we are.

Bogan Mate is home to T-shirts, mugs, stubby holders and other bits and pieces featuring everything from classic Aussie humour and stupid one-liners to designs that probably need a bit more explaining than they should. Some will make your mates laugh, some might earn you a dirty look, and some will just leave people wondering what the hell you're wearing.

There's no big corporate story behind us. No marketing department sitting around a boardroom deciding what's funny. Just two mates coming up with dumb ideas, turning the ones that make us laugh into merch, and chucking them online to see if anyone else has the same cooked sense of humour.

We're so bloody thankful

Bit of a bloody full-circle moment looking back at where this whole wild ride kicked off.

It might not have looked like much back then, but to us, it was everything — somewhere to have a crack, express ourselves, make some dumb stuff and just be unapologetically us.

What we never expected was all the absolute legends, communities and mates we'd meet along the way. We're bloody grateful for every connection, every laugh, every bit of support and everyone who's been part of the chaos.

And the best part? We're still here. Still making weird shit, still having a laugh and still enjoying the ride.
